It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

STORY
My desire to be surrounded by and learn from other entrepreneurs lead me to envision, propose, design, build and start-up what is currently the only coworking space in Westmount, making use of vacant office space owned by my business associates which had been severely damaged by fire.
To steepen and speed up the required learning curve for this new venture I did market research and was able to understand what target clients value and what they do not appreciate. It was interesting to see how very cool features were not that interesting for most users. People want a comfortable space to get work done, and that is what I focused on.
After extensive research on spaces where people go to concentrate on their tasks, I designed a space that felt like a comfortable library, with lots of natural light and greenery to give a feeling of freedom, and very fast internet (a must). Another very important detail was to serve members well. Thanks to 8 years in the restaurant industry and some time working as the receptionist of the space, I understood what good service meant for coworking users.
After designing, building and putting the space in service, it was time the automate it. I tested several coworking member management systems to find the one that offered the insights and tools that our clients and our business management needed. I also designed the website and implemented a booking system to let people book their visit at their best convenience without having to call.
Through this great entrepreneurial experience I have learned the coworking business like the palm of my hand and I am always thankful for the many entrepreneurs and other people I have been able to meet and learn from through this journey.
What I did
Designed the space from start to finish and led client recruitment
Designed and developed an intuitive customer journey representing the brand aesthetic and values across all customer touch-points
Created the brand strategy and continue to lead all digital marketing campaigns
Managed operations and trained staff
Partnered with local businesses to develop member discounts.
Tools used
Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Mailchimp, Webflow, Excel, Slack, Office RnD, Measuring tape and paint brush.
Website design and development
Analyzing visitors' online behaviour on our site and insights from our receptionists, we design a website where users, looking to rent office space, would find the information needed to take the next step and visit the location.
Design and manage social media profile and paid advertising.
Social profiles have been created to cater to entrepreneurs. Vic Collective's content will showcase existing locations, motivate using quotes from successful entrepreneurs and creatives, and share tools and tips to improve on skills and grow a business.
To spread the word, we designed and created social media campaigns targeting people who live around each location and fit our clients' demographics. The metrics gathered have helped us understand our clients better. But nothing works best than taking the time to talk to them.
